Are Condensed Driver CPC training courses available?

Yes, both of the condensed and standard courses are available for vocational drivers that require Driver CPC training.

The team aim to be flexible, at the same time ensuring all drivers receive the training required.

Do experienced drivers need to undertake CPC Driver training?

There are some exemptions for professional drivers. But, each driver will be required to undertake refresher Driver CPC training every 5 years. For more information on the specific training required, the advisers can help.

Is CPC training a legal requirement?

According to the EU directive 2003/59/EC, all professional drivers are legally obliged to undertake Driver CPC training.

Training is intended to raise driving standards and improve upon skill bases of professional drivers.

Is CPC Driver training a one off qualification?

No. CPC Driver training must be carried out on a regular basis. Every driver must complete at least 35 hours of training, every 5 years before receiving a DQC (driver qualification card). Driving without a DQC, or failing to produce it, carries a maximum fine of [pound]1000 for both the driver and the operator licence holder.

CPC Driver Training

The training centres provide Driver CPC training for both PCV and HGV vocational drivers.

CPC Driver training can be booked for individuals or groups of employees, that ensures the courses are suitable for large and small companies, whether just one vocational driver or a group is required to undertake the training.

For added ease both intensive and standard length session are available for CPC Driver training , lessons can be organised at times that are convenient for the driver and their employers.

The team can provide Driver CPC training at employees premises, and at the nearest dedicated training facility.

Driver CPC training is intended to ensure all vocational drivers are equipped with knowledge most relevant to the industry, such as knowledge about health and safety, manual handling and safe driving.

It is also designed to continuously build on PCV and HGV drivers' skill and knowledge bases, through a system of regularly updated ongoing training.

Please be aware that exemptions can apply in regards to Driver CPC training, as some existing vocational drivers are considered to have gained the CPC qualification through 'acquired rights'. It is recommended that employers and self-employed vocational drivers refer to www.gov.uk to check their status.

CPC Driver Training Lessons

According to UK directives, drivers of Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCV) and Large Good Vehicles (HGV or LGV) are obliged to undertake CPC Driver training.
